Sick And Tired.

July 17, 2011

We’ve been doing this column for two and a half years now. The driving force and the inspiration for is my editor, Dee. She’s the unsung hero behind the scenes that makes this whole thing work.

Like myself, she has a full time career, making this conservative outreach a labor of love. Dee’s a rare creature. She’s a rock-solid conservative in a country that has surrendered itself to the opiate of government cradle-to-grave entitlements, known as socialism. I’ve learned much from her about the nuts and bolts of everyday life under the ‘soft tyranny’ which is the British social welfare system.

She has related stories to me such as entire extended families, none of whom has ever held a paying job. The ‘dole’ has become trans-generational. You have more and more people in the UK living off of smaller and smaller productive segments of society. It brings to mind something that the ‘Iron Lady’ Margaret Thatcher said, “The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money”.

European style socialism is communism light. By its very nature it lacks the fierce entrepreneurial spirit that has imbued the people of America with the indomitable will to achieve, and instead drowns the people in a deluge of government regulation and ever increasing demands for more and more taxes, a crushing burden on citizens and the economy. Beginning to sound familiar?

The citizens of Europe have been beaten down by political and social class systems that our forbears left behind for the new world. That’s what socialism does… it destroys, it never builds, it takes and never gives. It destroys the heart and soul of nations.

Our mercifully brief encounter with socialism, a la Barack Hussein Obama and the DeMarxist clown college, has America up on its feet and raging. The message… and it’s resonating throughout this land… is that we will not tolerate ‘government as usual’. Politicians of all stripes have been using America and Americans as their own private fiefdoms for far too long.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired. It’s as good a way as any to describe the mood of the country going into the 2012 elections. If the ObaMarxists thought they got their clocks cleaned in 2010… well, as we used to say in the Corps… Stand By…

What A Wondrous Thing, This Patriot Movement.

October 10, 2010

It’s great to be an American. It’s great to be an American Patriot during this most momentous period in American history. Not that it isn’t a little scary too… with the assault against the fabric of the country by Barack Obama and his Marxist Government and Congress… with our borders a literal sieve, two wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, with the latter altogether uncertain because of Barack Obama’s indecision and his active undermining of the military mission and command there.

Some people see our president as favoring and aiding our enemies. If this was a Republican they’d be shrieking for his head, but then Obama did tell us that he had to get out of Afghanistan… he couldn’t lose the Democrats or some such? I’ll bet his statement got more play with the Taliban than it did with his rent-a-mob kook base. In a sane world we’d have him impeached and facing charges of giving aid and comfort to the enemy in a time of war.

No one is going to convince me, or the people of this country, that this recession is over, or even close to it. Businesses and money are fleeing Obama’s wunderland every day. You see, one of the things that the DeMarxists have never been able to figure out is that they can tax the rich all they want. People with money aren’t stupid… once you have money you have to work hard at keeping it. They’ll pull the plug and take their money and leave.

Obama’s tax nazis will find themselves presiding over a diminishing return. What was it that Maggie Thatcher said about socialism? She said something to the effect that socialism was just peachy keen until you run out of other people’s money.

We have a peaceful and significantly violence-free revolution underway in this country. But make no mistake about it, it is a revolution nonetheless. I’m proud to be part of it. It is a revolution that is going to sweep the enemies of this country aside. Less than four weeks to the day of reckoning for the Democrats.
Join us in our fight against the enemies of America.

Obamao Bank Regulation Rip-Off In Danger.

June 28, 2010

It could come down to another Teddy Kennedy finish for the 2,000 page bank regulation bill which Obamao took to Toronto, waving it in the air like a nouveau-economic Neville Chamberlain, urging the G-20 members to spend, spend, spend, just like us. Europe and Asia said… “no thanks”. His call for no country to prosper over another fell on amused but deaf ears.

Obama with other G8 nation leaders.

With European socialist countries, including Spain and Greece, coming to the abrupt realization that socialism is economically and morally broke… with echoes of Margaret Thatcher’s classic warning before parliament, “The problem with socialism is that sooner or later you run out of other people’s money”… Europe has seen the light, albeit slowly and very painfully for their people.

So the Anointed One Trotskys his way around, desperately trying to permanently break the back of America’s economy… before we can get him stopped in November and out in 2012. The rest of the world, perhaps with the exception of ‘our little commie’s’ bosom bud down there in Venezuela, that famous Benito Mussolini wannabe Hugo (I’m not a thug) Chavez, realizes that spending and deficits need to be controlled before the world economy falls into a tailspin from which it may never entirely recover.

The banking bill, or as it should rightly be titled ‘The Large Banking Institution Freedom Bill’, is a 2,000 page polyglot that seeks to regulate our financial economy… every single phase of it… except for Fannie and Freddie. Gee, what a surprise! Where’s Barney?

The whole evil scheme may now be at risk, with the news today that Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV) has passed on at the age of 92. Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown (R) has said that he will not support the bill, which he originally favored the first time around, until it came out of conference committee with 15 billion of grift tacked on to it. This could put a finish to the bill for this year. Good news for Conservatives and Patriots.
Give us responsible, sensible legislation and we might support it.

On A Wing And A Prayer.

May 6, 2010

Although it’s only relevant in the US, it seems appropriate that the UK general election is being held today, National Prayer Day. With the amount of prayers coming out of Britain today, I hope the Good Lord has a high bandwidth connection.

Gordon Brown

In Skip’s article from May 3rd, ‘Our Founding Documents… The Foundations Of Freedom’, he said that “Many, back in the days of King George the Third and the Revolution, didn’t believe that people could self govern, that instead the guidance of a firm but benign ruler was necessary as the common man simply could not be trusted to make life decisions for himself.” This attitude is still evident today in modern Britain. I have spoken to many who complain bitterly about high taxes, uncontrolled immigration and all the other usual gripes. They usually round off their little rant with a resigned “Well, there’s nothing we can do about it”.

Compare that attitude of many, or most, Brits to that of the American people over the last year. Do you think that if Obama totally lost it (anything is possible!) and introduced a 50% income tax level, increased fuel tax to push gasoline to $9 a gallon, and set up a state-owned broadcasting network which would cost you a $220 annual license (whether you watch it or not), that there would not be a few Tea Parties? Darn right there would be!

David Cameron

One oft-quoted comment of the British public is sadly true – “It doesn’t really matter, they are all about the same”. The whole spectrum of politics has shifted to the left. The difference between Labor’s Brown and the ‘Conservative’ Cameron is like the difference between Obama and Clinton. Would you believe that the latter has even incorporated ‘hope and change’ in an election slogan? It seems that the country has lost the first and slipped too far to do anything about the second. They are all more concerned with being pc than doing what must be done to rectify the sinking ship. What sort of an alternative is a Conservative government that upholds cap and tax and promises to plow more money into the ailing NHS?

Perhaps one day another Churchill or Thatcher will come along that has the cajones to do what is needed. Until then, Britain will remain as a stark reminder to the US of what not to do, what not to let happen. There is one good thing about the British electoral system – you never get dead liberals turning out to vote!

Independents Favor Conservative Republicans – 66% To 13% For Obama.

April 19, 2010

Pretty astounding figure isn’t it? With only 13% of Independents supporting Obama it’s a figure that has veteran DeMarxists quivering in their statist sinecures. The magic wand in any election is usually the oft quoted but much maligned Independents. Their ability to swing elections is legendary in the halls of Washville.

In the Presidential race in 2008, 55% of Independents voted for Obama. There’s almost a 100 point difference between the 2008 Independents and the striking 66% favorability of today’s Independents towards Republicans. The message of the Tea Party Patriots has also resonated through the Independent community, with its message of freedom, limited government and defense of our laws and Constitution.

There’s a resurgence of history regarding the founders (sans pc). They were remarkable men for their, or any, time. There has been new interest in the history surrounding the formulation and creation of the founding documents highlighting the magnificent legacy they left behind from our founding, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The founding documents are the compass of our Republic and the reason we fight this bloodless war against socialism and those who would impose their will on others.

There is a palpable sense of energy out here, you can sense it, hell you can feel it. Hundreds of thousands attended tax day tea parties. The few attempts at ‘infiltration’ by the left were mostly just laughable. With a strength that has surprised everyone, the Patriot movement has thrown down the gauntlet to our Republican Senate and House members.

Be counted now! Do every single thing you can conceive of to hinder the implementation of any Obama legislation. So far you can be really proud of the way you’ve stood up, but in the words of the ‘Iron Lady’, Margaret Thatcher, “Don’t go getting all wobbly on us”.
Good advice.
