Cicero: A Nation Can Survive Its Fools…

September 25, 2011

…and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly.
But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the galleys, heard in the very halls of government itself.
For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victims, and wears their face and their garment, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men.
He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

Marcus Tullius Cicero, 106BC - 43BC.

We, in all our arrogant sophistication, have utterly failed to grasp what this ‘primitive’ philosopher knew forty two years before the birth of Christ.

The critical situation in which America now finds itself is a gut check of monumental proportions. There can be little doubt in any rational person’s mind that there are forces at work in this country which, left unchecked, will certainly extinguish the greatest beacon of democracy in the history of the world, resulting in the enslavement of free people’s souls. We’ve been served a constant diet of lies and prevarication for close to a century.

It’s the Goebbels syndrome on a grand scale. Tell the big lie long enough and often enough, and it takes on a life of its own. The ideologically driven radicals that have completely suborned and taken over what was the Democrat party in this country have taken agitation propaganda to heights unseen outside of Nazi Germany or possibly Stalinist Russia. Dissension, class envy, racial conflict and violence are their stock in trade. Grinding poverty and enslavement of free peoples is their goal.

The results of the careful groundwork that had been laid down in this country have their roots in the rise of international communism.

More recently, they can be found in Franklin Roosevelt’s ‘new deal‘. Exploration of the history of that period (the history not taught in most schools) was one of a massive shift of power to the federal government and toward socialism. Roosevelt felt that with the Supreme Court stuffed with his appointees and the promise of a ‘free guaranteed’ retirement, and the promise of unemployment ‘insurance’, the Democrat party would retain power.

In terms of ending the great depression, as we now know, the New Deal’s policies were a complete failure… ‘Social Security’, a Ponzi scheme of monumental proportions. The highest court in the land turned from interpretation of the law with respect to the Constitution to judicial activism, which continues to eat away the fundamental pillars of our society to this day.

Generations of dishonest, self-serving politicians, with no other motive than the acquisition of personal wealth and power, infest our halls of government… and not just at the national level either.

We have no one to blame but ourselves. We were the ones who listened to the statist siren song of “The Easier, Softer Way”. We completely ignored the lessons of history and now we are relearning them the hard way.

It’s up to each one of you, you and I, to judge for ourselves whether or not what we have experienced since the ‘immaculation’ (thanks, Rush) of Barack Hussein Obama constitutes the treason that Cicero spoke of. For myself, I say ‘yes‘!

The rise of the American Patriot Movement is a direct response to this threat. It’s readily apparent, even among the ranks of supposed ‘conservatives’, that they have no clue of what they are actually dealing with, or they wouldn’t continue to bleat out the bland inanities that they do.

What we are witnessing is nothing more nor less than the second American Revolution, as unique in its bloodless non-violence as America herself.
Memo to America’s enemies: We’re on the march and we’re coming for you!

Treason? Perry Says It, We’ve All Thought It.

August 17, 2011

What Governor Perry actually said was that the institution of a QE3 would be economic treason. The Republican nannies out there immediately wrung their hands and rushed to the nearest statist media outlet to soundly repudiate the newly-announced presidential candidate in their most pontifical tones.

These are the same establishment Republicans who will do anything, it seems, to derail any Conservative candidate… man or woman. It seems they care more for their own agenda than the salvation of the country. These are the RINOs that we’ve come to despise.

Governor Perry is right. At this stage of our dead-in-the-water economy, another devaluing of our dollar would have serious implications to the citizens of this country. Bernanke is wrong… he’s been wrong all along. Is he a traitor? Perhaps. He’s a hard leftist, but there’s no law against that. We want to find who’s pulling Bernanke’s strings, among others. I have a feeling that when the dominoes start to fall with this administration, the extent of the rot and corruption will astound even the most skeptical.

There is virtually no area of American life through which Obama and his regime have not marched like Attila the Hun. The shameful mismanagement and abandonment of the mission in Afghanistan could be construed as treasonous by some. Certainly, the misadministration’s embrace of radical Islam, all protestations to the contrary aside, is seen by many to be treason.

The refusal of the Obama administration to defend and maintain our country’s sovereignty and the sanctity of our borders could be regarded as treason. Barack Hussein’s plans to gut our military (already underway) in a very dangerous world could also be construed as treason by those of us who realize just how stupidly perilous that is, and how badly it affects our ability to project strength throughout trouble spots in the world as they impact our security interests.

I won’t even go into the pathetic handling of the middle east or the horrible treatment of one of our few true allies, Israel. That ‘treason’ has probably cost the Anointed One the American Jewish vote. It’s about time… I was beginning to wonder if America’s Jewry was lost forever to liberalism. It appears that there’s hope after all.

So yeah, Karl Rove, we do think there’s treason afoot. And what’s more, we intend to deal with a bunch of it in 2012.
We’ll see you at the polls.

Another Memorial Day.

May 31, 2011

There’s not much I can contribute to the many flowery tributes to our fallen heroes that we saw and heard yesterday. There are just not enough superlatives. On this day that we set aside in remembrance of our war dead, I’m really gratified to see the huge amount of tribute and attention being given to our living military men and women… and their families.

We have, thanks to God, the finest military in the world. They’re an all volunteer military, which means every one of them is a professional… and please don’t give me the saw about minorities and poor whites being forced into the military due to poor economic conditions. These days, the recruiters won’t even talk to you without a high school diploma.

Today’s battlefield is a far cry from those of previous wars. The speed with which information can be passed, and tactical situations changed, on today’s battlefield mean that the average soldier, sailor, Marine or airman has to know far more than did a rifleman at Belleau Wood.

Combat in Afghanistan and Iraq is physically demanding and mentally draining. The enemy is quite literally everywhere and nowhere is totally safe. That’s not the worst part. These magnificent men and women are expected to win in an environment where their own commander-in-chief is not only actively working for their defeat, he’s crippling them of their ability to accomplish their mission by gutting as much of the military as he can. He’s also telegraphed to the Taliban when he intends to reduce our forces in Afghanistan… thereby making everyone’s job more dangerous and in the process giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

Some might call that treason. It certainly gives pause for thought. We hear more coming out about our nascent fuhrer actively seeking ways to circumvent the second amendment via executive order.
I think that would just about tear it for most of us.
